Bloomquist Jean - Tuber

Be still my heart. Bloomquist Jean is fun, unique and oh so dramatic. The informal decorative dahlia shows off its twisty, glowing orange petals on long strong stems. 

Bloomquist Jean Averages 5' tall plants with 6-8” blooms. Price is per tuber.

Planting & Care Instructions:

Start by digging a 6- to 8-inch deep hole to plant the tubers. Mix some compost and a handful of bonemeal into the planting hole. Otherwise, do not fertilize at planting.

Set a tuber into the hole with the neck and eyes facing up or lay the tuber on its side. 

Cover the tuber with soil.

Do not water the tubers right after planting. This encourages rot. Wait until the sprouts have appeared above the soil, then water. This may take several weeks.

To support the growing plant place 5- to 6-foot stakes around plants at time of planting and tie stems to them as the plants grow.

Dahlias begin blooming about 8 weeks after planting.
